The New York Mets have interest in free agent reliever Andrew Miller, who had a close relationship with Mickey Callaway as the Cleveland pitching coach. If Miller is healthy he can obviously be a great piece of the pen. It was imperative the Mets go get a big time left handed reliever this off season.
Miller, is coming off a rough season in which he dealt with a shoulder impingement. In 37 appearances, he had a 4.24 ERA, 3.51 FIP, 1.38 WHIP, 45 strikeouts, and 75.3% runners stranded percentage.
In 2017, he had a 1.44 ERA, 1.99 FIP, 0.83 WHIP, 95 strikeouts, and 87.1 % LOB in 66 2/3 innings. He was one of the most dominant relievers in the game.
