According to @BigDavesRants , the Mets have agreed to terms with Carlos Gomez on a minor league deal. The former Met hit just .208/.298/.336 last season for the Rays and posted a 0.5 bWAR.

With Jed Lowrie and Todd Frazier hurt it makes sense for Jeff McNeil to play third base while Gomez would play the corner outfield position. Gomez had a strong showing in right field last year for the Rays, posting a +8 DRS in just under 800 innings.

Again this is a minor league deal and does not guarantee he will make the opening day roster.
