Fantasy baseball is a game where people manage rosters of real players and compete against each other using the player’s real-life game statistics to score points. Most drafts seem to be completed since the first 2019 MLB game is only two days away in Japan. Some drafts are tonight as well.
Sleeper picks for 2019:
SP: Trevor Williams: He can be taken fairly low in the draft. Posted a 3.11 ERA last season.
SP: Forest Whitley: Astros top pitching prospect will most likely make his debut 2 weeks into the season. If you are looking for a guy that walks little and strikeout a lot of batters this is your guy. Put him in your N/A slot for 2 weeks.
SP: Chris Paddack: Padres top pitching prospect. Again taken low in the draft. He has a huge upside.
CL: José Leclerc: Posted a 1.56 ERA last season with a .85 whip for the Texas Rangers.
SP: Jake Arietta: Again… a low pick. He is looking to rebound this season. He is only 32 years old.
SP: Michael Wacha: Projected to have a 3.20 ERA in his final season before hitting free agency (2020). Low risk high reward late pick.
OF: Alex Verdugo: He has been one of the Dodgers’ top prospects for quite awhile now and although he has underperformed in a small MLB sample size, his prospect pedigree is still there.
OF: David Dahl: When healthy, Dahl can be one of the best 25 fantasy outfielders in baseball. The problem is that so far in his MLB career, he’s struggled to stay on the field.
SP: Jesus Luzardo: In the minors in 2018, Luzardo had 129 strikeouts in 109.1innings.
SP: Shane Bieber: According to advanced metrics, they suggest he’s about to break out in 2019. His 3.23 FIP and inflated .356 BABIP each point toward improvement this year.
Good luck on your fantasy drafts everyone! I hope this helped!
